What you buy

A course plan opens the PrepPass Course: CSLB Class B General Building for a fixed period. Today that is 120 narrated lessons with section practice, 6 chapter quizzes, chapter drills, practice mock exams (5 forms), course notes to download (one PDF per chapter and unit, of the open lessons), the daily plan and the error log. The narration is a synthetic (computer-generated) voice. It is courseware only. The PrepPass book (eBook) is a separate product and is not included.

Price and length

Two passes, in US dollars, shown with their price before you pay: 3 months and 6 months. Each pass is one payment for a fixed period (90 or 180 days). A monthly plan may also be offered (see Monthly plan below). Payment is taken by Stripe; your card details go to Stripe, not to us.

Renewal

The 3-month and 6-month passes do not renew. Nothing is charged again for them and there is nothing to cancel. If you buy another period while your access is still running, the new period starts when the current one ends. The monthly plan, when it is offered on the pricing page, renews every month until you cancel: see the next section.

Monthly plan

The monthly plan is a subscription, sold only when it is shown on the pricing page with its price. Before you subscribe you tick a separate box to agree to these renewal terms.

  • It renews automatically every month at the price shown when you subscribe, until you cancel. You are charged when you subscribe, and then on the same day each month (or the last day of a shorter month). The pricing page and the Stripe checkout show the date of your first renewal.
  • Cancel any time online in Account > Billing ("Manage or cancel"). No phone call or email is needed.
  • When you cancel, no further charges are made, and you keep access until the end of the month you already paid for.
  • No refunds or credits for part of a month. If you were charged by mistake or cannot open the course because of a fault on our side, email support@preppass.org.
  • If a renewal payment fails, your access continues for 3 days after the paid month ends while Stripe retries the card; update your card in Account > Billing.
  • If you already have access when you subscribe, each paid month is added after your current end date. Buying a 3- or 6-month plan while subscribed adds its days the same way.
  • The 90-day access extension applies to the one-payment plans only.

Free without a plan

Unit B0 (Welcome), Chapter B1 (Planning and Estimating), their course notes and the diagnostic are free and need no payment.

When access ends

The other chapters, the mock exams and their notes lock again. Files you downloaded stay yours. You can keep studying the free chapters. Your saved progress and error log stay in your account for as long as you keep it, and you can keep saving them.

Refunds

All sales are final: course plans are not refundable. By buying a plan you agree to these terms. If you were charged by mistake or cannot open the course because of a fault on our side, email support@preppass.org.

If you study and do not pass: 90 more days

This is an extension of access. It is not money back, and it does not predict or guarantee an exam result. You qualify if:

  • You bought a one-payment plan for this course (3 or 6 months) and you sat the CSLB Class B General Building exam while that plan was active.
  • Your Study record shows every lesson that is open in the course done (lessons marked "coming" are not counted), and every chapter quiz that exists taken.
  • Your Study record shows at least two practice mock exams taken, and the latest scored 80% or higher.
  • You send your request within 30 days of the exam date.

Email support@preppass.org from the address you bought with and attach (1) the CSLB result notice showing you did not pass, (2) your purchase receipt, and (3) a screenshot of your Study record from the course. If it all matches, we add 90 days of access, counted from the day we approve it or the day your plan ends, whichever is later.

One extension per purchase. Your Study record follows your account, so you can take the screenshot on any device where you are signed in; we may check it against the progress saved to your account. We may change or end this offer for future purchases; a change never affects a plan you already bought.

What this is

PrepPass Course is an independent study resource. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB). Completing it does not satisfy any licensing, education or experience requirement, and it does not predict or guarantee an exam result. Course notes are for your own study; please do not share them.

Privacy

  • Your account: signing in uses your PrepPass account (email, or Google sign-in). A course plan is linked to that account so the course knows you have access and until when.
  • Payment: Stripe processes the payment and sends us the order (email, plan, amount). We never see your card number.
  • Your progress: lessons seen, answers, error log, quiz, mock and diagnostic results and your study plan are saved to your PrepPass account, in our database with your other account data, so they follow you to another browser or device. Before you sign in they are kept in this browser, and when you sign in they are added to your account. While a change is waiting to be saved, or while you are offline, it is also held in this browser. A mock exam that is in progress stays on this device until you finish it. Course access itself is separate (see above).
  • Usage events: like the rest of PrepPass, the course records a few events: starting the free chapter, starting and finishing a lesson (with how many you have finished), finishing a chapter quiz, the diagnostic or a mock exam (with the score), seeing a locked chapter or the end of the free chapter, setting or changing a study plan (whether it has an exam date, and the daily minutes), opening the course (with how many times this browser has opened it, the days since its first and last visit, the page it opened on, and the tags on the link that brought you, such as which of our videos), starting to sign in and coming back signed in, opening the plan chooser, pressing a plan button, returning from checkout, and downloading an audio lesson. Most are recorded once per lesson, quiz attempt, mock exam, plan setting or browser tab session; plan-button presses and audio downloads are recorded each time. They carry a random browser id and a coarse browser type (for example “Chrome on Windows”, not the full user-agent string) but no email, name or account id, and they do not include your answers. If you buy a plan, your order record also holds that browser id. We use them to improve the course.
  • Never sold: we never sell your course data and never share it with advertisers. Your progress is kept for as long as you keep your account and is deleted only when you ask us to delete it or when your account is deleted. See also the PrepPass privacy policy.
  • Your requests: to get a copy of your data, correct or delete it, or close your account, email support@preppass.org. We handle requests within 30 days.
