About StorePass

What we do

StorePass is PrepPass's open-your-store companion. After you pass the exam, we show you what to file, where, in what order — with every fee and timeline sourced from the agency that issues the permit. Free. Multilingual. No accounts.

Why it exists

Immigrant owners pay $500–$1,500 to '代办' middlemen for what is, fundamentally, public information. The information is just hard to find in your language. StorePass is the answer to that.

Methodology

Every fee and timeline has a source URL and a 'Verified on' date. We never silently guess. Items we couldn't verify show 'Pending verification' until we close the loop with the agency. Quarterly re-verification keeps the data fresh.

What we don't do

We never advise which entity to form (LLC vs Corp), your tax strategy, lease terms, or immigration questions. Those need a licensed professional. We link to the official agency for everything — we never re-host forms.

Independence

StorePass is independent and is not affiliated with the IRS, the State of California, Santa Clara County, the City of San José, or any other agency referenced in the guides.

Found an error or stale fee? Email corrections@preppass.org with the page URL and what's wrong. We aim to respond within 3 business days.
