The Scenario-Based Georgia Broker Exam Format
Unlike the salesperson exam, the Georgia broker exam uses a scenario/simulation, best-answer format with weighted scoring. This chapter explains the format and how to approach it.
How the Format Works
The Georgia broker exam's national portion is presented as scenario/simulation, best-answer items scored on a weighted point basis (for example, a best answer earns more points than a merely acceptable one), rather than simple right/wrong multiple choice. Because of this format, GREC and PSI do not publish a fixed broker question count or numeric passing score the way they do for the standard multiple-choice salesperson exam.
Best-Answer Strategy
In a weighted best-answer format, more than one option may be defensible, but one choice best fits Georgia law and sound brokerage practice for the situation described. Read the full scenario, identify the broker's duties, and select the response that most completely and correctly resolves the problem. Avoid picking the first technically correct option or the most extreme one.
What the Format Tests
The scenario format is designed to measure whether a candidate can apply license law, BRRETA, trust-account rules, and supervisory judgment to realistic problems, which is what a broker does when running a firm. It rewards practical decision-making over rote memorization, matching the broker's higher level of responsibility.
