About PrepPass

Free study guides and practice tests for California professional license exams. In English, Chinese, and Spanish.

Mission

PrepPass exists because California license exam prep should be free, accurate, and available in the languages California's workforce speaks. We don't charge for any study material or practice question, and our content covers every exam topic with citations to the underlying law.

Sources

Every practice question and study chapter is written from public-domain California law and regulations. For each exam:

  • CSLB Business & Law:California Business & Professions Code §7000+, California Civil Code (mechanics' liens, prompt payment), California Labor Code (wages, hours, workers' compensation), Cal/OSHA Title 8 CCR. Plus the official CSLB study guide for topic blueprint alignment.
  • Cosmetology / Barber / Esthetician / Manicurist: California Business & Professions Code §7300–§7426 (Cosmetology Act), Title 16 California Code of Regulations §979 (infection control), Cal/OSHA standards (Bloodborne Pathogens 8 CCR §5193; Hazard Communication §5194).

All practice questions are 100% original prose written from the statutes themselves — never copied or paraphrased from real exam questions or any prep company's materials. Real exam content is copyrighted; we deliberately do not use it.
