Designated-Licensee Agency and Broker Education
This chapter covers Wyoming's designated agency framework, the required agency disclosure, and the 8-hour Wyoming Real Estate Management course required of broker candidates.
Designated-Licensee Agency
Wyoming recognizes designated agency, in which the Responsible Broker designates a specific licensee to represent a client. This lets different licensees within the same firm represent different parties in a transaction. Licensees must make the required disclosures so consumers understand the relationship.
Agency Disclosure
A Wyoming licensee must disclose the brokerage relationship being offered so consumers understand who, if anyone, represents them before they share confidential information. The disclosure is informational; it does not set commission, warrant the property's condition, or replace the transaction contracts.
The 8-Hour Wyoming Real Estate Management Course
Wyoming broker candidates must complete an 8-hour Wyoming Real Estate Management course in addition to experience. The course reflects the management and supervision duties of the broker tier, and its subject matter is commonly tested on the state portion.
