Sentence Correction and Logic
These items test clear, grammatical, and logical English at the sentence level. You will fix agreement errors, misplaced modifiers, and faulty parallelism, and choose the most precise phrasing. The goal is a sentence that is both correct and unambiguous.
Agreement and Modifiers
Match verbs to their true subjects, and be alert to 'neither...nor' and 'either...or,' where the verb agrees with the nearer noun. A modifying phrase at the start of a sentence must attach to the noun it logically describes, or it dangles. Read the sentence literally to catch these errors.
Parallelism and Concision
Items joined in a list or by 'and'/'or' should share the same grammatical form. Prefer the most concise correct option; extra words rarely improve a GMAT sentence. When two choices are both grammatical, pick the clearer, tighter one.
