Quantitative Reasoning (Problem Solving)
The Quantitative Reasoning section measures your ability to reason with numbers and solve problems using arithmetic, algebra, and basic geometry. It rewards clear setup and efficient calculation rather than advanced mathematics. Most questions can be solved with careful reading and a well-chosen equation.
Number Properties
Number properties questions test your understanding of integers, divisibility, factors, remainders, and odd/even behavior. These problems often have quick logical solutions once you recognize the underlying rule. Comfort with prime factorization is especially valuable.
Critical Reasoning
Critical Reasoning presents a short argument and asks you to evaluate it: strengthen it, weaken it, identify an assumption, or draw a conclusion. Success depends on separating the evidence from the conclusion and testing the logical gap between them. Each item here is self-contained and requires no outside reading passage.
Sentence Correction and Logic
These items test clear, grammatical, and logical English at the sentence level. You will fix agreement errors, misplaced modifiers, and faulty parallelism, and choose the most precise phrasing. The goal is a sentence that is both correct and unambiguous.
Data Insights
Data Insights measures how well you read and interpret data presented in tables and simple figures. You will compute totals, averages, ratios, and percentage changes and compare quantities. The full exam also uses multi-source and graphical prompts; the items here focus on self-contained table interpretation.
