What we publish

Practice questions, study guides, and career guides for nine California professional license exams: CSLB Business & Law, Cosmetology/Barber/Esthetician/Manicurist (BBC), Food Handler Card (ANSI-CFP), Life & A&H Insurance (CDI), Property & Casualty (CDI), Personal Lines (CDI), Guard Card (BSIS), CNA (CDPH), and RBS (ABC). Where our content comes from

• Official California regulatory boards — every exam topic blueprint is sourced from the administering body (CSLB, BBC, CDI, BSIS, CDPH, ABC) and published official PSI/exam specs.
• California statute, code, and CCR sections — explanation paragraphs cite specific Business & Professions Code, Health & Safety Code, Insurance Code, Vehicle Code, CCR titles, and relevant Federal Code (IRC, 42 CFR §483, etc.) sections so you can verify the legal basis of any answer.
• Working California practitioners — career-guide salary and timeline data is anchored against the California EDD Occupational Employment Statistics (OEW) and other public sources, cited inline.

How questions are written

• Every question must be traceable to a specific statute or regulatory section — the citation appears in the answer explanation.
• Every explanation is 300+ characters and follows a fixed structure: name the rule → explain why the correct answer is right → explain why the strongest distractor is wrong → cite the California statute or board reference.
• Distractors (wrong answer options) are written to represent common candidate misconceptions, not random or implausible options — so the exam practice mirrors real test conditions.
• Questions are original — not copied from any commercial or official test bank. PrepPass does not have access to (and does not claim access to) any regulatory body's actual exam questions.

How we keep content fresh

California fees, statute section numbers, and exam blueprints change periodically. Our review schedule:

• • Practice question banks reviewed when a California legislative session changes the underlying statute.
• • Salary and fee data updated annually against EDD OEW releases and the latest official fee schedule.
• • Every page surfaces a visible Last reviewed date you can verify.

What PrepPass is not

• • Not a California licensing board, not the administrator of any official exam.
• • Not an ABC-approved RBS provider, not a BBC-approved cosmetology school, not a CSLB-approved CSLB exam school, not an ANSI-CFP accredited food-handler provider.

If you spot a question with a wrong answer, an outdated fee, an incorrect statute citation, or a translation issue, please use the feedback form. Include the URL, the exact field, and what should be changed — we'll review within 7 days.
