Give-Way Rules
The Australian Road Rules set out who must give way at each intersection.
Uncontrolled and signed intersections
Give way to the right where there are no signs. A STOP sign needs a full stop then give way; a GIVE WAY sign needs you to slow and yield without necessarily stopping.
Turning and roundabouts
When two vehicles turn right across each other they usually pass in front of one another. Entering a roundabout, give way to vehicles already in it.
Driveways and pedestrians
Give way to pedestrians and road traffic when leaving a driveway, and to pedestrians crossing the road you are turning into.
