Road Rules & Right of Way
Knowing who must give way keeps intersections safe and traffic predictable.
Giving way
At an intersection without signs or signals, give way to any vehicle approaching from your right. When turning right, give way to oncoming vehicles going straight ahead or turning left.
Intersections and roundabouts
At a T-intersection, a driver on the terminating road must give way to traffic on the continuing road. When entering a roundabout, give way to any vehicle already in the roundabout.
Seatbelts and keeping left
The driver and all passengers must wear a seatbelt where one is fitted. On roads with a limit over 80 km/h you must keep left unless you are overtaking.
