Traffic Signs & Signals
Signs and lights tell you what you must do and warn of what lies ahead.
Stop and give way
At a STOP sign you must come to a complete stop and give way before the line. A GIVE WAY sign means slow down, and stop if necessary, to give way to other traffic and pedestrians.
Traffic lights
A red light means stop and wait behind the line until the light turns green. A yellow light means stop if you can do so safely.
Warning and regulatory signs
Yellow diamond-shaped signs warn of a hazard or change in conditions ahead. A school zone sign shows a reduced limit that applies during the signed times.
