Minors and Secondary Supply

Legal drinking age and ID
The legal drinking age in Australia is 18. If a person looks under age (many venues check anyone appearing under 25), ask for acceptable proof of age and refuse service if it is not provided.
Acceptable proof of age
Acceptable ID is an original, current document with a photo and date of birth, such as a driver licence, passport or approved proof-of-age card. Photocopies, expired or non-photo documents are not acceptable.
Secondary supply
Secondary supply is buying or supplying alcohol to a minor. On licensed premises this is not allowed, and supplying alcohol to minors is restricted by law, with rules and penalties that vary between states and territories.
