One combined exam of 150 items. Arizona law is covered inside the topic areas (for example, insurance regulation is weighted at 4%) rather than as a separately counted state part. The bulletin adds that a small number (5 to 10) of unscored experimental questions may be given in addition to these items.

Under ARS § 20-284(H), a candidate may take the exam for a line of authority at most 4 times in 12 months; after a fourth failure there is a one-year wait. Failing this combined exam counts as failing each line it covers. A new appointment cannot be made on the same day as a failed attempt.

The exam fee is non-refundable and valid for one year from payment. The bulletin also prints a $120 licence fee paid to the Department and fingerprint fees of $8.25 (Fieldprint) and $22.44 (FBI processing), but the Department's own fee pages could not be retrieved to confirm them, so they are not listed.
