| Administering body | Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR), Division of Real Estate — exam delivered by PSI Services LLC Illinois has no separate salesperson license: the entry-level license is Broker, and this is its exam. Candidates first complete 75 class hours at an IDFPR-approved school (60 hours of Broker Pre-License Topics plus a 15-hour interactive Applied Real Estate Principles course); the education is valid for two years. The exam is taken at a PSI test center or by remote online proctoring. Source: PSI Services LLC / IDFPR Division of Real Estate — Candidate Information Booklet (dated 6/24/2026) (2026-09-22) |

| Time limit | Not published by PSI / IDFPR Two official PSI sources disagree and PrepPass does not pick one. The Candidate Information Booklet dated 6/24/2026 allows 150 minutes for the national portion and 90 minutes for the state portion; PSI's Illinois web page states “Duration: 3.5 hours”. | Passing score | 70% Each portion is passed separately: 70% on the national portion and 75% on the state portion. PSI states the national 70% is equivalent to the scaled score of 75 previously reported. A failed portion is retaken alone; candidates get up to 4 attempts, after which the 75-hour pre-license education and the entire exam must be retaken. A passing result must be used to apply for the license within 1 year. Source: PSI Services LLC / IDFPR Division of Real Estate — Candidate Information Booklet (dated 6/24/2026) (2026-09-22) |
| Fees |
Only PSI's examination fee is shown. IDFPR's license application fee was not found on an IDFPR page we could read today, so it is not stated here. The exam fee is forfeited if you do not test within 1 year of PSI receiving it. | Languages offered | Not published by PSI / IDFPR Neither the PSI Candidate Information Booklet nor PSI's or IDFPR's Illinois pages state the languages the exam is offered in; they were searched for “language”, “English” and “Spanish”. PrepPass therefore names no language.
