Safe & Eco Driving

Smooth, attentive driving is safer, cleaner and cheaper.

Eco-driving

Smooth acceleration, steady speeds, higher gears and correct tyre pressure reduce fuel use and emissions. Avoid unnecessary idling and remove heavy loads or roof boxes you do not need.

Distraction

Holding a mobile phone while driving is illegal and carries penalty points; use hands-free only, and set up navigation before you set off. Distraction greatly increases crash risk.

Seatbelts and occupants

Everyone must wear a seatbelt where one is fitted, and the driver is responsible for ensuring passengers under 17 are properly restrained. Children must use the correct child restraint for their size.
