Road Signs
Half the G1 test is on signs; their shape and colour tell you the type of message at a glance.
Regulatory signs
Regulatory signs tell you the law: a red octagon means stop, and a red-and-white downward triangle means yield. A red circle with a white horizontal bar means do not enter that road.
Warning signs
Yellow diamond-shaped signs warn of a hazard or change in the road ahead. Orange diamond signs mark temporary conditions such as construction, and a fluorescent yellow-green pentagon warns of a school zone.
Information and special signs
Green signs and circles indicate permitted actions or directions to destinations. A black-and-yellow checkerboard sign warns that the road ends or turns sharply ahead, and a round yellow sign with an X warns of a railway crossing.
