Oklahoma Licensing Requirements and Renewal
This chapter summarizes how a person qualifies for and maintains an Oklahoma license: pre-license education, the provisional sales associate path, post-license education, and renewal.
Pre-License Education and Exam
An Oklahoma provisional sales associate applicant must complete 90 clock hours of Commission-approved pre-license education before taking the licensing examination. Applicants must also meet background and honesty requirements set by the Commission.
Post-License Education and Advancement
After licensure, a provisional sales associate must complete required post-license education within the first license period to convert to a full sales associate license. Failing to complete post-license education on time affects the licensee's ability to continue practicing.
Renewal and Continuing Education
Oklahoma licenses are renewed on a periodic cycle, and licensees must complete Commission-approved continuing education to renew an active license. Continuing education keeps licensees current on Oklahoma law, broker relationships, and ethical practice.
