Chapter 15 of 1515% of exam

Wyoming Licensing Requirements and Education

Wyoming sets pre-license education, examination, association, and continuing-education requirements for salespersons. This chapter summarizes the path to and maintenance of a Wyoming salesperson license.

Pre-License Education and Exam

An applicant for a Wyoming salesperson license must complete the Commission-approved pre-license education, including the required fundamentals and practice coursework, before taking the licensing examination. The candidate must pass the exam, which covers national and Wyoming-specific content, and meet the Commission's eligibility requirements.

Association with a Responsible Broker

A salesperson license becomes active only when the salesperson is associated with a responsible broker who supervises the salesperson's activity. Without an active responsible broker, the salesperson may not conduct brokerage. Changing brokers requires updating the association with the Commission.

Continuing Education and Renewal

Wyoming licenses renew on a set cycle, and licensees must complete Commission-approved continuing education before renewing. Continuing education keeps licensees current on Wyoming law and practice, including the state's brokerage-relationships rules. Letting a license lapse can require additional steps before the licensee may resume practice.
