Everyone has duties
The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 places duties on employers and workers. Workers must take reasonable care for their own safety and that of others affected by their work, and co-operate with their employer. You must not misuse anything provided for safety.
Reporting hazards
If you see something unsafe, report it to your supervisor straight away, and only make it safe yourself if you are trained and it is safe to do so. Toolbox talks and site inductions exist to share hazard information for specific tasks.
CDM 2015
The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 give duties to everyone on a project, from clients and designers to contractors and workers. The principal contractor manages health and safety during the construction phase, and workers must follow site rules and co-operate.
