Maine Property & Casualty Insurance Producer Exam — Complete Study Guide (2026)
For the Maine Property & Casualty producer exams. Maine gives a combined Property & Casualty exam (3 hours 30 minutes through Pearson VUE, scaled passing score 70) and separate Property and Casualty exams. The book follows the Maine content outline (Pearson VUE #122006, effective February 2, 2026) in two parts. Part 1 teaches the general knowledge (100 of the 140 scoreable items on the combined exam): insurance terms and concepts, policy provisions and contract law (including the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley and TRIA), homeowners and dwelling policies, commercial property, businessowners, inland marine, flood and other property, commercial general liability, umbrella, professional liability, crime and bonds, personal and business auto, and workers compensation concepts. Part 2 is a separate Maine law part (40 of the 140 scoreable items), taught from the Maine Revised Statutes (Title 24-A and others) and Bureau of Insurance rules as the outline cites them: the Superintendent, insurers, surplus lines and the Maine Insurance Guaranty Association, producer, consultant, adjuster and apprentice licensing and continuing education, unfair trade practices, rebating and claims, cancellation and nonrenewal for commercial and personal lines, the standard fire policy, hurricane deductibles, uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage, excluded drivers, financial responsibility, the Maine Automobile Insurance Plan, ride-sharing coverage and workers compensation. "In Maine" boxes show where Maine law changes the general rule. Appendix A is a dated Maine numbers table that names the source of each figure and includes the Bureau's published exam pass-rate summaries for January to August 2026, and Appendix H maps outline topics to statutes and rules. 225 practice questions follow, and the answer key gives the keyed answer, a short reason and a chapter reference for each. Independent: not affiliated with or endorsed by the Maine Bureau of Insurance or Pearson VUE, and not an approved course. It does not cover the separate Personal Lines exam. PDF + EPUB.
