Questions
Is this an official CSLB course?
No. PrepPass is an independent study resource. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB). The course follows CSLB's published Law and Business study outline, and completing it does not satisfy any licensing, education or experience requirement.
Will the course tell me whether I will pass?
No. Scores in the course, the diagnostic and the mock exams show how you answered our questions; they do not predict or guarantee your result on the CSLB exam.
Does a course plan include the PrepPass eBook?
No. A plan opens the courseware: the lessons, practice, quizzes, mock exams, daily plan and course notes. The CSLB Law and Business eBook is a separate one-time purchase ($27.99).
Do the plans renew? Is there anything to cancel?
The monthly plan ($18 a month) renews automatically every month until you cancel. Cancel any time online in Account > Billing ("Manage or cancel"). No phone call or email is needed. When you cancel, no further charges are made, and you keep access until the end of the month you already paid for. No refunds or credits for part of a month. If you were charged by mistake or cannot open the course because of a fault on our side, email support@preppass.org. The 3-month plan ($45) is one payment for 90 days of access; the 6-month plan ($69) is one payment for 180 days of access. These plans do not renew, so there is nothing to cancel. If you buy another period while your access is running, it is added after your current end date.
What can I use for free?
Unit 0 (Welcome and the big picture), Chapter 2 (Business Finances), their course notes and the 30-question diagnostic, with no payment and no card. The rest of PrepPass's CSLB practice questions and its full-length timed mock exam stay free on the site too.
Are the mock exam questions new to me?
The course mock draws 40 questions from a pool of 350 that are held out from the course's own lessons, section practice and chapter quizzes. They also appear in PrepPass's free public practice bank, so you may have seen some there.
Where is my progress saved?
In your PrepPass account. Lessons seen, answers, the error log, quiz and mock results and your study plan are saved to your account, so they follow you to another browser or device once you sign in. Before you sign in, your progress on the free chapters is kept in this browser and is added to your account when you do. A mock exam that is in progress stays on the device you started it on until you finish it.
What is the refund policy?
All sales are final: course plans are not refundable. If you were charged by mistake or cannot open the course because of a fault on our side, email support@preppass.org. Instead of refunds there is a 90-day access extension if you study the course and do not pass, on the conditions in the next answer. The course and the extension do not predict or guarantee an exam result.
What if I study the course and still do not pass?
If you meet these conditions, we add 90 days of free access. Conditions: You bought a one-payment course plan (3 or 6 months, or a 12-month pass bought earlier), and you sat the CSLB Law and Business exam while that plan was active. Your Study record shows every section of every chapter done, and every chapter quiz taken. Your Study record shows at least two practice mock exams taken, and the latest scored 80% or higher. You send your request within 30 days of the exam date. Email support@preppass.org from the address you bought with and attach (1) the CSLB result notice showing you did not pass, (2) your purchase receipt, and (3) a screenshot of your Study record from the course. If it all matches, we add 90 days of access, counted from the day we approve it or the day your plan ends, whichever is later. One extension per purchase. It is extra study time, not money back, and it does not predict or guarantee an exam result. Your Study record follows your account, so you can take the screenshot on any device where you are signed in; we may check it against the progress saved to your account. We may change or end this offer for future purchases; a change never affects a plan you already bought.
