| Time limit | There are two separate exams (Life; Accident & Health and Sickness), and each is timed in two portions as the handbook prints them: a general portion of 75 minutes and a Hawaii portion of 45 minutes, at a test center or on OnVUE What we read and found nothing in: Pearson VUE — Hawaii Insurance Licensing Candidate Handbook (January 2026, #121200) (2026-09-22) |
| Passing score | Not published by Hawaii DCCA Insurance Division The handbook sets the required score for a resident producer at 70 and says the reported scaled score "is neither the number of questions you answered correctly nor the percentage of questions you answered correctly. With a passing score of 70, any score below 70 indicates how close the candidate came to passing." It publishes no scale range, so the cut is quoted rather than shown as a percentage. Retakes: 24 hours after each failure at a test center; on OnVUE, two weeks after the first failure and four weeks after each later one. | Fees |
The handbook prints a single examination fee of $75 and does not say whether taking both the Life and the Accident & Health and Sickness exams in one session is charged once or twice. The licence fee is prorated and the handbook refers to the Insurance Division's current fee schedule rather than printing an amount, so it is not shown. | Languages offered | Not published by Hawaii DCCA Insurance Division / Pearson VUE Neither the handbook nor Pearson VUE's Hawaii page names the language of the exam or lists a translated version.
