DIFS has discontinued remote-proctored exams; the bulletin says licensing exams are available only at PSI testing locations. Pre-licensing education is required before this exam under section 1204(2) of the Insurance Code, and the course completion certificate is valid for 12 months.

The bulletin, the 16-80 outline and the DIFS cut-score sheet all give 150 items. The bulletin adds that, in addition to that number, one to ten unscored experimental items may be given, and they count against exam time, so the exam you sit may be longer than 150 questions.

The bulletin and the 16-80 outline print “2.5 hours” / “2 1/2 Hours”; PSI's registration data for this test gives 150 minutes. The PSI tutorial, up to 15 minutes, does not count toward exam time. Extra time of one and a half times is available on request for an additional $50.

Passing score75% (at least 113 of the 150 scored questions)

The 16-80 outline states “75% (113 Correct to Pass)”; the DIFS cut-score sheet gives 75% effective 1 May 2020. A failed exam cannot be rebooked the same day; the bulletin's example is a candidate who fails on a Wednesday, calls on Thursday, and retests as soon as Friday.
