| Passing score | Not published by Montana Commissioner of Securities and Insurance The two official sources word it differently. The handbook says "With a passing score of 75" on a scaled score that is neither the number nor the percentage of questions answered correctly, and prints no score range. The Commissioner's page says "Pass the exam with a score of 75% or better". A candidate who fails must wait 24 hours to book a retake and must retake both parts; online (OnVUE) testing allows two attempts per exam, after which a test center is required. | Fees |
From the June 2025 handbook, the edition Pearson VUE currently links. A candidate seeking both lines takes two exams. The handbook prints no licence fee for a resident producer, and the Commissioner's steps page says fingerprints and their fee go directly to the Montana Criminal Records Division without stating an amount, so neither is shown. Pearson VUE's Montana page links an English as a Second Language request form for candidates whose primary language is not English.
