The bulletin states that remote proctored exams stopped on 3/13/2026; the exam is now taken in person at a PSI test center. Each line of authority (Life; Accident & Health) requires 20 hours of approved pre-licensing education, and for Series 11-35 both course completion certificates must be presented on paper on the day of the exam.

Questions150 questions

One combined exam of 150 questions. Ohio law is tested inside the topic areas rather than as a separately counted state section. The bulletin adds that 1 to 10 unscored experimental items (generally about 10% of the number of questions) may also be given; they count against exam time but not toward the score.

Fees
  • $49 — Examination fee (Series 11-35) (PSI Services LLC, per attempt) Source
  • $10 — Licence application fee, per line of authority (Life; Accident & Health) (Ohio Department of Insurance, one-time) Source

The Department's scheduling page prints the same $49.00 exam fee, and its fee schedule agrees with the bulletin's $10 initial fee for each of the Life and Accident & Health lines. The bulletin says the exam fee is not refundable or transferable and is valid for one year from payment. It also prints a $72.25 fee for fingerprinting at a PSI center, which no Department page we found confirms, so it is not listed as a fee; other WebCheck providers set their own prices. The NIPR online application adds a transaction fee that neither source quantifies.
