Tennessee Life Agent and Accident and Health Agent Examinations — Exam facts
Administering bodyTennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance — exam delivered by Pearson VUE

Both exams can be taken at a Pearson VUE test center or online through OnVUE; a candidate is limited to 2 OnVUE attempts per exam line, after which further attempts must be at a test center. After passing, a fingerprint-based background check is required before applying. The Department's licensing procedure requires a pre-licensing course only for the title line, not for Life or Accident and Health.

Passing scoreScaled score of 70 on a 0–100 scale

The Department of Commerce and Insurance selected 70 as the reported passing score for each exam; scaled scores range from 0 to 100 and are neither the number nor the percentage of questions answered correctly. Passing candidates see only “pass”. Retakes: wait 10 days after a first failure and 30 days after each later attempt, and 24 hours before booking.
