| Questions | 155 questions (150 scored, 5 unscored pretest) The 17-03 outline gives “150 questions (plus 5 unscored items)”. The bulletin likewise lists 150 questions and says candidates complete 5 experimental questions that are not scored and whose time is not deducted from the test time. The combined exam gives one final score; a candidate must pass the complete exam to be licensed. | Passing score | 70% Prometric's Utah FAQ: “you must receive a 70% or higher on the examination.” The score report shows the percentage answered correctly overall and per section. | Fees |
Only the exam fee and Prometric's fingerprint processing fee are shown, because the licence and fingerprint fees conflict between official sources: the bulletin lists a $75 individual licence fee and the Department's exam page a $32 FBI/BCI fingerprint fee ($12 FBI, $20 BCI), while the Department's FY2027 fee schedule lists $70 for an individual full-line producer licence and $15 BCI plus $13.25 FBI. Exam registration fees are not refundable or transferable; Prometric's FAQ gives the same $44 exam fee as the bulletin. | Languages offered | Not published by Utah Insurance Department / Prometric Official sources conflict. The Department's page says Prometric has offered Utah insurance exams in Spanish since 18 December 2023, and both the bulletin's exam list and Prometric's FAQ include a Spanish version of this exam (1733). But the bulletin's own ESL paragraph still says “All examinations are given in English.” What we read and found nothing in: Utah Insurance Department — Exam & Licensing Procedures (2026-09-22) · Prometric — Utah Insurance Department Licensing Information Bulletin (effective on and after September 25, 2025) (2026-09-22) · Prometric — Frequently Asked Questions, Utah Insurance (2026-09-22) |
