Error-correction tasks ask you to pick the sentence that follows standard English. This chapter reviews comparatives, uncountable nouns, and tricky reporting verbs.
Comparatives and Uncountable Nouns
Long adjectives take 'more' alone ('more expensive'), never '-er' as well. Uncountable nouns such as 'progress' have no plural and take no 'a', so you say 'good progress', not 'a good progresses'.
Reporting Verbs
'Suggest' is not followed by 'someone to do something'. Use 'suggest that + subject + verb' instead. Learning the correct pattern for each reporting verb prevents common errors.
