Broker Education & Experience (48-hr course)

Before taking the Missouri broker examination, a candidate must complete a broker prelicense course of at least:

Missouri requires a 48-hour broker prelicense course approved by the Commission before a candidate may take the broker examination. The course covers broker-level topics such as supervision, escrow handling, and brokerage operations that go beyond the salesperson curriculum.

Broker Education & Experience (48-hr course)

To renew a Missouri broker license, a licensee must:

  • a.Complete Commission-approved continuing education, including required core topics
  • b.Retake the full national and state examination
  • c.Serve on the Real Estate Commission
  • d.Transfer the license to a new firm

Missouri brokers renew by completing Commission-approved continuing education, including required core topics, during each license period. Renewal does not require retaking the licensing examination, serving on the Commission, or changing firms. Continuing education keeps brokers current on law and rule changes.
