Following distance
Keep at least a two-second gap behind the vehicle ahead in good conditions and more in poor weather. This gives you time to see hazards and stop safely.
Cyclists, pedestrians and blind spots
Give cyclists room and pass only when safe, and yield to pedestrians at crosswalks. Mirrors do not show the blind spot, so signal and shoulder-check before changing lanes.
Slow down and move over
In Saskatchewan you must slow to 60 km/h (or the posted limit if lower) when passing an emergency vehicle or tow truck stopped with flashing lights, and move over where possible. This protects roadside workers.
