Signs & Signals

Signs, lights and markings give you instructions and warnings on Saskatchewan roads.

Sign shapes and colours

A red octagon is always STOP, and an inverted triangle means YIELD. Yellow diamond signs warn of hazards ahead, orange diamond signs mark construction zones, and white regulatory signs state rules you must obey.

Traffic lights

A flashing red light means stop completely, then proceed when safe, like a stop sign. A steady amber (yellow) means the light is about to turn red, so stop if you can do so safely.

Pavement markings

Yellow lines separate traffic moving in opposite directions, and a double solid yellow line means no passing. White lines separate lanes of traffic travelling the same way.
