Interpersonal Cluster: Relationships and Communication
The Interpersonal cluster addresses how HR professionals build and maintain effective relationships, communicate clearly, and work across cultures. These competencies enable HR to influence, resolve conflict, and serve diverse stakeholders.
Relationship Management
Relationship Management is the ability to create and sustain trust, manage conflict, and negotiate workable outcomes. It starts with understanding each party's underlying interests before facilitating a fair resolution.
Communication
Communication covers exchanging information effectively through active listening, tailoring the message to the audience, and confirming understanding. Clear, respectful, behavior-focused feedback strengthens both the message and the relationship.
Global & Cultural Effectiveness
This competency is the ability to value diversity and adapt behavior across cultural contexts while achieving shared goals. It rejects imposing a single culture, ignoring differences, or relying on stereotypes.
