Vocabulary and Idioms
Vocabulary items test both single-word meaning and fixed expressions. Recognising idioms and the words that go with them is key.
Common Idioms
English uses many fixed phrases: you 'make a difference', 'lose track of time', and describe an automatic skill as 'second nature'. These cannot be translated word by word and are best learned as complete units.
Meaning from Context
When options share a broad meaning, the surrounding sentence decides. If a task was easy, the instructions were 'clear', not 'vague' or 'complicated'. Look for result clues that reveal whether the meaning is positive or negative.
