Airspace & ChartsCâu 40 / 100

While operating a small UAS at 300 ft AGL over an open field, the remote PIC and the visual observer see a crop-dusting airplane maneuvering toward the operating area at roughly the same altitude. What action is required?

a.Hold the current altitude and heading, since manned aircraft must give way to a UAS
b.Climb the aircraft above the airplane so that its pilot can see it more easily
c.Broadcast the UAS position on the local CTAF and continue the planned flight
d.Yield the right of way by maneuvering clear, descending, or landing so no collision hazard exists

Giải thích

Section 107.37 requires the small UAS to yield the right of way to all aircraft and prohibits operating so close to another aircraft as to create a collision hazard. Manned aircraft are never required to give way to a small UAS, so holding course is both unsafe and non-compliant. Climbing toward the airplane increases the hazard, and a radio broadcast does not relieve the remote PIC of the duty to yield.
