Section 3203(a)(6) requires correction in a timely manner based on the severity of the hazard, and where an imminent hazard cannot be abated at once, removal of all exposed personnel except those needed to fix it. Severity, not a clock, sets the pace, so a flat 24 hours is both too slow for an imminent hazard and arbitrary for a minor one. The abatement date belongs to the citation process under Labor Code section 6317 and exists only after an inspector has been there; the IIPP duty starts the moment the condition is discovered. And inspections under (a)(4) are how hazards are found - correction cannot wait for the next one.
