Alcohol, Licensing & Teen Driving Laws
In Indiana, a teen may get a learner's permit at age 15 only if they:
- ALive outside a city
- BAre enrolled in an approved driver education courseCorrect
- CHave a job
- DOwn a car
Why: Indiana allows a learner's permit at age 15 when the teen is enrolled in an approved driver education program; otherwise the minimum is 16. (Indiana Driver's Manual, GDL)
Rules of the Road & Right-of-Way
At an intersection with no signs or signals where two cars arrive at about the same time, you should yield to:
- ANo one; go first
- BThe car that is going faster
- CThe vehicle on your rightCorrect
- DThe larger vehicle
Why: At an uncontrolled intersection, yield to the vehicle that reaches it first; if you arrive together, yield to the driver on your right. (Indiana Driver's Manual)
