Exámenes de Licencia de Valores (SIE y Series)

Securities license exams are administered by FINRA and NASAA and are required to sell securities or give investment advice. The SIE (Securities Industry Essentials) is the shared prerequisite; the Series exams then qualify you for a specific role — as a representative, principal, or investment adviser. This hub gathers every securities exam PrepPass covers so you can start with the SIE and add the Series exam your job requires. Practice questions and timed mock exams are free.

Frequently asked questions

Do I take the SIE before a Series exam?

For most representative registrations, yes — the SIE is the corequisite that covers industry fundamentals, and you pair it with a top-off Series exam (such as the Series 6 or Series 7) for your specific role. Some exams, like the Series 65, can be taken on their own.

How many questions are on the real exam?

It depends on the specific exam and, for state-issued licenses, on your state. Open the exam you need from the list on this page — each exam page shows its current format and question count, kept in line with the exam board's published outline.

Are these practice tests free?

Yes. Every practice question and full-length timed mock exam on PrepPass is free, with no signup required. The only optional paid product is a $9.99 study-guide eBook offered for some exams.
