Laptop Components

Power and Battery Safety

Lithium-ion batteries store energy densely but require care. Recognizing failure signs and handling batteries safely prevents fire and injury.

A bulging lithium-ion battery is a hazard and must be replaced and recycled properly.
Never puncture or crush cells
Physical damage to lithium cells can cause fire or rupture.
Diagnose charging port faults
A loose, intermittently charging port often means a worn DC jack needing repair.
