Obras PúblicasPregunta 1578 de 1605
Before bidding on or being awarded a California public works contract, a contractor generally must be:
a.Bonded for twice the contract amount
b.A member of a labor union
c.Registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) as a public works contractor
d.Certified by the CSLB as 'public works qualified'
Explicación
Labor Code §1725.5 requires contractors and subcontractors to register with the DIR (and pay the annual fee) to bid on or be listed on a bid proposal for, and to be awarded or perform, public works subject to prevailing wage. Registration is a prerequisite, not union membership or a special CSLB certificate.
