Right of Way & Giving Way
In the Philippines, on which side of the road do you normally drive?
- AThe center of the road
- BThe right sideCorrect
- CEither side, as convenient
- DThe left side
Why: The Philippines uses right-hand traffic: you keep to the right side of the road, and slower traffic stays right while faster traffic passes on the left.
Road Signs & Signals
You approach a red, downward-pointing triangular sign at a junction. What does it tell you to do?
- ASlow down and give way to traffic that has priorityCorrect
- BSpeed up to clear the junction
- CCome to a full stop every time
- DSound your horn and proceed
Why: A downward-pointing (inverted) triangle is a GIVE WAY / YIELD sign. You must slow down and give way to traffic that has the right of way, stopping if necessary. Confirm current signage with the LTO.
